The Ultimate Foodie Gift Guide for 2025

What Does a Foodie Really Want?

It’s that question we ask ourselves as gift-givers because we want our gifts to be well-received. We want our loved ones to actually use—and enjoy—the gifts we buy them.

If you have a foodie in your life, you’re in luck, because we’re actually an easy nut to crack. Truly!

Quirky? Yes. Silly? Sure. Maybe a little cuckoo over our spice collections? Guilty.

But at our core, we’re simple creatures.

I’m breaking this gift guide into three sections: the real needs of a foodie! These are the gifts that’ll make us squeal with delight and think of you every time we use them:

spice fun

1) Something that makes our time in the kitchen smoother – Okay yes, I’m guilty of spending wayyyyy longer in the kitchen than is necessary. Because I LOVE being in there. But there are several things that make this time even more enjoyable and with a little less stress on my body which means more time doing what I love and being where I want to be! (Did I already mention, it’s the kitchen?!)

2) Something fun! There’s a reason why the kitchen gadget market never fails – although the actual kitchen gadgets that we come up with are a whole other story. Foodie’s love to experiment! We love a challenge. And the kitchen is our happy place… it’s where we get to be kids again, be creative and flow. So new toys are very welcome here. And don’t worry – I’m a minimalist – there’s nothing on this list that it’s incredibly functional. (See what I did there?)

3) Something delicious – OBVI! Do people even say that anymore? I’m sure not. Which makes me want to say it even more, so it’s staying right there where I left it. Seriously though – Gift a foodie something delicious and you’re speaking their favorite language.

4) Something to learn from – Cookbooks are precious to foodies and can be handed down generation after generation. I’ll give you a few that I know you’ll love.

So how will you satisfy your beloved foodie this season??

1. Kitchen Magic Flow

Gifts that keep us cooking comfortably, efficiently, and sustainably

We foodies can spend hours in the kitchen, whether we’re rolling dough, chopping vegetables, or waiting for a pot to simmer just right. But the right tools can take the edge off those long hours and make the experience even more enjoyable. Think ergonomic, practical, and beautifully designed. I included some in here that are green-kitchen-friendly because that’s an important part of my culinary journey.

Lomi Countertop Composter: What an epic gift this would be. Wanna excite your foodie and save the world all at the same time??

The Lomi is a countertop composting device that uses a combination of heat, abrasion, and oxygen to break down food scraps. It’s recommended to use Lomi Blends, which contain microbes and nutrients to enhance the composting process and give you nutrient rich soil. Lomi was the first home “composter” to market their device as able to break down bioplastics. Check out my article comparing the best countertop composters on the market here, but I think the Lomi would be the best one to gift because of it’s compact size.

Vitamix Blender: This has to be my all-time favorite kitchen gadget that’s gotten the most use out of anything in my kitchen! I don’t just use this to make cilantro mint chutney. I also use it for smoothies, soups, hummus, dressing, batter, etc! I LOVE my vitamix! This is the model I have and it works really well. They have more powerful models but I think for most people, this basic version will suffice. I appreciate that it’s low-profile too so it fits on the counter under the cabinets.

Reusable Silicone Baking Mats: Perfect for baking cookies, keeping samosas warm, or baking anything!—these save on parchment paper and make cleanup a breeze. Not to mention, they’re non-toxic!

Cushioned Floor mat: I don’t have one of these yet but it’s been on my wish list for a while. We always had these in the industrial kitchens I’ve worked in and they’re a back/leg/feet saver!

2. Playtime in the Kitchen

For when we want to experiment, create, and have a little fun.

The kitchen isn’t just where we feed our loved ones; it’s where we play. New tools and gadgets give us that feeling of being a kid again—excited to try something new.

Mortar and Pestle: Freshly ground spices make everything better. Plus, it’s great for pesto, chutney, or guacamole. This is a great tool for young children to be a part of kitchen activities! Quinn loves to mash up spices for me. 🙂

Fermentation Kit: A fun, science-y way to create kimchi, sauerkraut, or homemade pickles.

Water Kefir Starter Kit: Kombucha’s cooler(?) cousin – Water Kefir is a healthy fermented drink and making it will surely satisfy your experimental foodie!

3. Flavors That Wow

Edible gifts that excite our taste buds and spark new ideas.

Here’s the thing about foodies: we love trying new ingredients, tasting small-batch creations, and savoring the unique. Give us something delicious and we’ll love you forever.

Organic Indian Spice Gift Set: A rainbow of aromatic spices to elevate every dish. This spice set is well-rounded and has the essentials.

*Pair this spice set with a Masala Dabba Spice Box where your foodie can keep all of their new spices and you’ve got a real winner! If I were new to cooking Indian food, this would be the gift that would excite me the most for sure.

Organic Chai Tea Sampler: Tea is one of the best gifts you can give in my opinion. It’s like self-care in a box. If you really love someone, you’ll gift them self-care! 😀 And a chai tea sampler? This one’s a no-brainer!

Green & Black’s Organic Chocolate Tasting Collection: Would anyone be anything less than ecstatic to receive this gift?? I know it can’t be just me… and man, do I love this chocolate. Every flavor I’ve tried is a new favorite.

Sally Fallon’s Nourishing Traditions is like a foodie’s Bible. If they don’t have it, they need it! It’s a deep dive into traditional cooking methods, nutrient-dense recipes, and a focus on whole, real foods.

Vegetable Kingdom by Bryant Terry is full of the most delicious-looking plant-based recipes inspired by African, Caribbean, and Southern cuisines, with an emphasis on seasonal produce. This one’s on my wish list for sure!

Salt Fat Acid Heat by Samin Nosrat is a masterclass in understanding the four elements of great cooking, with recipes and techniques to build confidence in the kitchen.

The Art of Fermentation by Sandor Ellix Katz is a deep dive into fermentation for foodies who love experimenting with pickles, chutneys, and more. This would be an excellent companion gift to the fermentation kit!

Stainless Steel Stock Pot: A must for big batches of broths, curries, and soups.
Carbon Steel Wok: Lightweight, durable, and ideal for stir-fries and quick sautés. I use these to precook massive amounts of veggies for the curries.
Vitamix Blender: Absolutely necessary to get the correct consistency of the cilantro mint chutney
Premium Ergonomic Potato Peeler: Because the little things make a big difference. This was one of my first kitchen upgrades after I started the samosa business (after the Vitamix)…. Let’s just say, I peel A LOT of potatoes and this is a dream tool!
Kitchen Scale: Precision is key, especially for baking and bulk spice prep. I use this to make sure my recipes come out the same every time.
Electric Citrus Juicer: This was a purchase for the lassi when they were still around! Remember that first one? Orange Cardamom? Mmmm… I’ll have to bring that back someday.
Hand Juicer: Sometimes, simplicity is all you need. I use this every week for lime juice in the chutney!
Big Ladle: Essential for serving generous bowls of love (aka curry!).

Dr. Bronner’s Castile Soap: This is what I use as a dish soap. The almond scent is my go-to, but this variety pack will be a great way to explore which scents you prefer. Non-toxic and great at cleaning anything and everything in my kitchen!
